Weebly lead-gen for Harvard Alumni in Healthcare

A new shared interest group at Harvard needed a quick way to collect potential members before going live with a fully-featured community website, so Familian&1 employed its affordable web design principles to produce this super simple (and effective!) lead gen site with Weebly:

Persuasive Visualization talk at DRIVE-2014

Seth Familian will be delivering a presentation on Persuasive Visualization at the DRIVE-2014 conference in Bellevue, WA. This presentation covers different ways Seth’s work with Familian&1 and GradMap has leveraged Data + Design to realize outcomes, and it also provides an overview of Maptiv8—a new private community visualization platform.

Over 300 Menlo Circus Mixer attendees sign-in to their event Map within 48 hours!

In a new experiment for the GradMap platform, the Haas School of Business has launched a “preconnection” Map for the Haas Alumni Menlo Circus Networking Event taking place this evening.  Though the Map was only launched 48 hours ago, already nearly 50% of event attendees have signed-in, populating rich and relevant data Maps to enable better event networking.  For more information on GradMap, the platform supporting this visual event directory, please visit http://gradmap.com.

GradMap: Alumni fundraising transformed

Just a few days ago I launched the first three pilot campaigns for GradMap—a lightweight software platform which combines information visualization with social gaming mechanics to improve participation rates in alumni reunion fundraising campaigns.

Tools to Love: Notable


Sometimes it’s just too difficult to describe a visual change you’d like to make on a website.  In comes Notable to the rescue.  Though their recently-modified business model means that you’ll need to pay $19/month for basic access, it’s well worth it if you do a lot of communication around visual designs.  There are a few cheaper competitors out there including Invision, though I’ve found that their commenting tools can’t replicate Notable’s draw-a-box-and-note-it approach.
